EYE2023 will take place both in Strasbourg and online in June 2023.
In autumn 2022, the European Parliament will launch a call for youth organisations and youth groups wishing to organise activities during the event, and another call to offer a financial support to active and engaged groups of young people wishing to participate in EYE2023.
Registrations for the event will open in January 2023.
WHAT IS THE EYE?
The European Youth Event (EYE) brings together at the European Parliament in Strasbourg thousands of young people from all over the European Union and beyond, to shape and share their ideas on the future of Europe.
It is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30 year olds to interact in-person and online, inspire each other and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and decision-makers, right in the heart of European democracy.
During the event, participants take part in a variety of activities, workshops and artistic performances, co-created with partners, youth organisations and participants themselves, offering space for both in-person and digital discussions and networking opportunities.
Following the event, the concerns, hopes and ideas from young people are presented in a report distributed to all Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Some participants will be able to further develop the most inspiring ideas and present these directly to the MEPs in the parliamentary committees during youth hearings.
Year-round, the EYE also provides online activities that create opportunities for wider public discussions on the future of Europe and the issues on the top of the agenda. The EYE strives to promote equality, inclusiveness and sustainability with a strong commitment to accessibility for everyone. Our aim is to accommodate the needs of all participants and to implement actions that make the event sustainable and environmentally friendly. In 2021, the EYE obtained the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management.
