The European Youth Event (EYE2021) took place 8-9 October and brought together 10.000 young people online and in Strasbourg, to shape and share their ideas for the future of Europe.

EYE2021 was the culmination of the European Parliament’s youth consultation process for the Conference on the Future of Europe. Started in May 2021, in collaboration with pan-European youth organisations, young people’s ideas on the future of Europe were collected on The top 20 most impactful proposals were consolidated into a Youth ideas report, presented to the Members of the Conference and fed into the political debate.

While only the most popular and up-voted ideas per topic are part of Youth ideas report, all the ideas submitted on are available to citizens and decision-makers on

EYE is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30 year olds to interact in-person and online, inspire each other and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and decision-makers, right in the heart of European democracy.

Under the tagline “The future is ours”, EYE2021 ran online activities from 4 October, leading up to the main event on 8 and 9 October 2021, which featured both online and in-person activities in Strasbourg, as well as new hybrid formats.

This year, EYE obtained the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management. EYE strives to promote equality, inclusiveness and sustainability with a strong commitment to accessibility for everyone. Our aim is to accommodate the needs of all participants and to implement actions that make the event sustainable and environmentally friendly.
