WHAT IS THE EYE?
The EYE (European Youth Event) brings together thousands of young people from across the European Union and beyond, right at the heart of European democracy, to discuss Europe’s present and future. Taking place every two years at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the EYE is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30-year-olds to engage directly with Members of the European Parliament, to exchange views with decision-makers, experts and other young people, to inspire and get inspired.
EYE2027, the seventh edition of this event, will take place on 18 and 19 June 2027, offering plenty of interactive activities, including debates, workshops, visits, artistic performances - both inside the European Parliament and in the EYE Village.
The EYE programme will centre around what Parliament does and what it stands for, creating opportunities for participants to discuss legislative priorities with Members and explore how their ideas can contribute to European policymaking.
Co-created with European and international institutions, youth organisations and participants themselves, the programme will be structured around four key themes: quality of life, competitiveness, security and EU values.
KEY DATES
- 25 September – 16 October - Call to organise activities during the event
- October - Call for groups of disadvantaged youth
- February - Opening of participant registrations
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
All young people between 16 and 30 years old can take part. While taking part in the EYE is free, participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodation in Strasbourg.
The EYE is an event for youth, co-created with youth, and participants can propose and organise activities. In September 2026, the European Parliament will launch the call for youth organisations and youth groups wishing to organise activities during the event.
Groups of young people with disabilities, from remote or rural areas, from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds can apply for a financial contribution to join the event. A call to apply for a financial support will be launched in October 2026.
Around 9,000 16 to 30 year-olds representing 160 different nationalities came together at the Parliament in Strasbourg to discuss the future of Europe at EYE2025 (European Youth Event). From Friday 13 to Saturday 14 June, 450 in-person activities took place at the EYE, in the form of panels, interactive workshops, quizzes, tours, networking opportunities, and artistic performances.
